Jessie Mae Long was born in Dublin, MS, on February 15, 1944, to the late Rose Ann Stephens. During her life, she worked as a warehouse operative for over 25 years until she took early retirement to care for her mother.
Jessie was more than just an aunt; she was a confidante, a cheerleader, and a source of endless inspiration for all who knew her. Jessie loved life, and she lived it to its fullest. Her laughter could light up a room, and her no-nonsense spirit encouraged us to step out of our comfort zones. Whether she was telling us a story about her teenage years or teaching us about life’s challenges, Jessie had a way of making every moment feel special. She taught us how to embrace life by facing each day with our heads held up high and our shoulders back, like a soldier going to war. Though Jessie is no longer with us, her love, kindness, and zest for life will continue to inspire us. We will miss her daily. Mother, you were our cheerleader and our dear friend. Your spirit will forever bloom in our hearts like the red roses in your garden.
As a parent, she was our first teacher, our steadfast protector, and our guiding light. She taught us the value of hard work, the importance of taking care of family members, and the irreplaceable comfort of a loving family.
As we say goodbye, let us carry forward Jessie’s legacy. Let us live out the lessons she imparted and keep her memory alive through acts of love and service to others. She has left this earthly realm, but her spirit and teachings will forever guide our paths.
She leaves her loving sons: Gregory Peck Robinson, Kernard Robinson, and Edward Lee Robinson; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
